ExCEL Award Nominees Announced
Goodhue High School proudly announces Sam McNamara and Kate Stehr as the 2015 ExCEL Award nominees. Sam is the son of Ed & Jane McNamara. He is active in football, basketball, choir, TNT, Student Council, Knowledge Bowl, Envirothon, NHS and is a FFA officer. His community involvement includes church choir, youth group and teaching religion as well as helping with youth sports.
Kate is enrolled in AP and College in the School courses. She is the Student Council President Elect and participates TNT, NHS, FCCLA, Envirothon, Band and high school sports. Outside of school she is active in her 4-H and church. Kate is the daughter of Jerry & Sheila Stehr.
The ExCEL (Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership) Award recognizes high school juniors who are active in school activities, show leadership qualities and do volunteer work. To be eligible students must be a junior in high school, make satisfactory progress toward graduation, participate in a MSHSL fine arts and/or athletic activity, hold a leadership position in their school, and work voluntarily in their community.
