Welcome to 4th Grade Site of Mr. Bitzan

Grade 4 Hello! My name is Robert Bitzan. This is my 32nd year teaching 4th grade.
I came from Brandon, MN which is a small town similar in size to Goodhue. I grew up in a large family of 15 with 7 brothers and 5 sisters.
After graduating from Brandon High School in 1982, I went to Moorhead State University. In 1986, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Coaching.
My first teaching job was in Goodhue at fourth grade. I coached junior varsity boys basketball for 26 years. I have retired as the head baseball coach after coaching for 19 years. During those nineteen years we competed in the State Tournament in 1995(Fourth Place) and 2003(Third Place). I have also coached junior varsity girls softball for 4 years. I was also head softball coach for one year. I now umpire high school baseball and softball in the Spring. I also ref volleyball and basketball.
I have been married for 31years to Dawn, and we have two children Brent and Brooke. Brooke has just graduated from St. Ben's College and she is excited to start her second year teaching 3rd grade in Lake City, Minnesota. Brent graduated from St. John's University with a business degree. He accepted a consulting job in Minneapolis, MN.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family traveling, biking, playing tennis, fishing, boating, and taking walks. I also enjoy bow hunting and spending time in the great outdoors.
This past summer Dawn and I celebrated our 31st anniversary in Montreal, Canada.
I look forward to my 32nd year of teaching!
