The 2015-2016 varsity basketball team was the highest finishing boys basketball team in school history with a Runner-Up Finish in the Class A State Championship. The team finished with a 24-10 record, 11-5 in the HVL. The team had many accolades including Grand Meadow Holiday Tournament Champions, HVL Blue Champions, Sub-Section 1A West Champions, Section 1A Champions, and State Class A Runner-Ups. The team had three All-HVL players in Jacob McNamara, Jacob Pasch, and Ben Opsahl and two All-HVL honorable mentions in Calvin Peterson and Ryan Alpers. Jacob McNamara, Jacob Pasch, and Ben Opsahl were also on the Class A State All-Tournament team.



The 2014-2015 Wildcats had a great year. They finished the year with a 23-8 record, including going 13-3 in HVL conference play. They were 2014-2015 HVL blue champions, sub-section 1A west champions, and section runner-ups for the second year in a row. Riley Augustine, Tyler Schumacher, and Jacob McNamara all earned HVL all-conference status with Jacob Pasch and Calvin Peterson also receiving HVL-honorable mention.
 
 


The 2013-2014 Goodhue Wildcats finished off  their season with a 19-11 record, 3rd place in the HVL Blue, they were WSU Holiday Tournament Champions, Sub-section 1A West Champions, and Section 1A Runner-ups. The team tied a school record for fewest points allowed per game and was the second ranked defense in all of Class A (46.2ppg). The team had four all conference players: Tyler Schumacher (All-HVL), Riley Bollum (All-HVL), Alex Thomforde (HVL-honorable mention), and Riley Augustine (HVL-honorable mention). Alex Thomforde was also selected to the Academic All-State Honorable mention. Tyler Schumacher was selected to the Republican Eagle All-Area Team.
